About Team 904

    It's that time of year again, FIRST Robotics season. We are Creston High School FIRST Robotics Team 904. We are one of more than a thousand teams around the world participating in the FIRST Robotics program.

    Team 904 is made up of students from Creston High School and surrounding schools, who are coached by volunteer mentors. And, of course, we are very grateful to all of our sponsors for providing us with funding and supplies, and our mentors for helping us.

    Once a year, FIRST announces a new game and gives the teams six weeks for to design and build a robot for competition. Also, our team produces an animation and web site. Through these projects, the students learn the real world skills of mechanical and electrical engineering, computer aided drafting, web site design, and animation creation. We give back to our community by helping at area organizations. We also work to increase the opportunities for others to enjoy the FIRST experience by assisting budding FIRST Robotics teams and mentoring FIRST Lego League teams.

    Creston 904 is committed to academic achievement among other things provides a unique opportunity for students to learn many new skills outside of the usual classroom environment. FIRST gives us opportunity to interact with people of varying backgrounds. By learning new things and working with new people, we are better prepared for the future.
