History
In the fall of 2001, Bill Paumier, a retired engineer from Smith Industries, and Natalie Lowell, an engineer at the X-Rite Corporation and the West Michigan Regional Director of FIRST, came to Creston with an initiative to start a robotics team. The educational opportunities provided by the program so excited Creston that they decided to commit. With principle, Mr. Baily, and teacher, Mr. Rozendal, to lead the program, Team 904 was formed. Through the work of Mr. Paumier, we formed our first corporate partnership with GILL Industries, who continues to provide 904 financial support. The volunteer mentors' dedication to the students, along with the assistance we received from the Grand Rapids Area Pre-College Engineering Program (GRAPCEP) and our corporate sponsors, ensured our team's successful beginning.
